Chrissy: Government Conspiracy.

So a few days ago

My friend Ash (curleighlocks) and I were discussing boys.

And I came up with this thoery

That the government is conspiring against free love.

And the beginning to this story was born:

Warning: There is one swear word, it is VERY rough draft, and it probably won't make any sense.

I looked at him for a long time. His question resounded strangely in my head. Carefully I tried to choose the right words. “The government placed me with you… therefore I love you.”

He sighed and shook his head sadly. The look in his eyes tweaked my heart painfully. I wanted to say what he wanted hear, I wanted to comfort him. Somehow.

“James,” I said quietly, “I love you.”

He swallowed and clenched his jaw. “Why?” His steely tone made me flinch. “Why? Why do you love me?”

“Because the gov—“

“No!” he yelled stepping forward and grabbing my shoulders roughly, “Damn the government! I want to know why you love me, not why the government wants you to love me. I want to know what you feel when you think about me.”

My eyes were wide in surprise and fear. I opened my mouth to say something—anything—but nothing would come out. Understanding my silence James sighed and removed his hands from my shoulders. “I’m sorry,” he told me, “Just… forget it.”

He left the room, rubbing his eyes wearily. I stood alone in the middle of the floor. My mind spun in confusion. I could not make sense of James’s question. Forget the government? How could I? They were the ones who had brought me and James together, after all. By forgetting them I was being ungrateful and selfish. Instead I should be spreading the news about how wonderful my life had been since I met James.

I went over to the wall and placed my hand on my BlogScreen. It took a minute to scan and I told myself I would change the security to an eye screening—it took less time. A little song announced my entrance to the page and white birds flew up out of the corners.

“Hello,” I greeted them softly. Then I tapped the button that said New Post. A blank template arose and I quietly began writing with my fingers.

The government is really amazing. My relationship with James is very pleasant and we get along really well. I am grateful for the opportunity I have to be here. Its really wonderful. I hope all of you who aren’t yet engaged look forward to this amazing—

No I had already used amazing.
Fabulous? No too trendy.
Brilliant? No too irrelevant.
Fantastic. Yes that will do.

This fantastic chance in life.

~Abby Havet (soon to be Fremund)

As soon as I sent it off to into the world I felt much better. There, now the government would know that I was grateful.

Walking over to the walk-in closet I began to choose what I would wear tonight….

Hmm... I really want to continue this story, or at least develop it further.

Do you think I should?

I feel I should include a picture...

How would you feel if the government

took away free love?

Like a class system or something...

I'd feel like I just stepped into a twisted, modern-day version of Fiddler on the Roof! I like your story! Maybe I'll put a new post on my blog letting the government know how grateful I am that the they, though sick and corroded they may be, have put yet one more control on my "free" life in hopes to make it "better." SO WHAT IF I WANT TO MARRY JOE JONAS? JUST BECAUSE THE GREEDY GAS PEOPLE WANT TO CRANK UP THEIR PRICES FOR GAS & DEISEL, (which, btw, should be cheaper than normal gas because it's cheaper to make) DOESN'T MEAN THAT IT SHOULD BE LEGAL, BECAUSE NOW, THROUGH A TWISTED CHAIN OF EVENTS I HAVE TO SELL MY SOUL JUST TO GO TO A JO BRO CONCERT, LET ALONE ACTUALLY SPRINGING FOR THE BACKSTAGE PASS SO I CAN MEET MY FUTURE HUSBAND! Fact: In 2006, the Exxon Chairman was given a $400 million dollar retirement package on a silver platter.

wow

I love your style of writing. This is a great beginning; you plunge in with the main characters already in the midst of something major and the reader isn't even confused. I felt and instantaneous connection with James and whats-her-bucket. I vote you continue with the story.... I'd buy it :]

Also... the Stephenie Meyer book signing was freaking AMAZING!!!

omd... I want to go to another one! :P

Yeah yeah... I'm a bit crazy... but what else is new ;]

Thanks for checking out my blog(s); yours is awesome, I'm definitely going to frequent it.... if that's okies by you.

:P

Take luck!!!

*post script* ... I haven't read 'uglies, pretties, or specials.... or extras'... but I do know what goes on in them... so i got the 'jealous making' and all that sweet jazz. ;]

Isn't it funny how often we end up talking about boys? I love your story! I figured you'd end up writing something about your theory. I think it really has potential. Keep writing! I'm waiting for more.
